Read through the Bible in 2 years: Job 36-37; Psalm 50
“Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.”
Job 36:26 ESV
“God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.”
Job 37:5 ESV
“I am God, your God.
Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me. I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine. Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
Psalm 50:7b-15 ESV
Heavenly Father, You are God, and we are not. You are good and perfect and wise, and we are not. Forgive us for our pride, for pretending we are better and greater than we really are. I pray that we would lie to ourselves no more, that we would come humbly day after day, seeking the crumbs that fall from Your mighty, heavenly table. Grow our faith, God. Show us Your power. Teach us who You really are. Deliver us by Your mighty love. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior we pray. Amen.
