“Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;”
Titus 1:1-3 ESV

Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required, yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus— I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.
Philemon 1:8-10 ESV

“[Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,”
Thank you, Lord!

Read the Bible in 2 Years: Psalm 38. (Bonus Day: Colossians 1)
This summer our Shelby County TN LifeWise leadership team read Lead with Prayer by Skoog, Greer, and Doolittle. They wrote, “This modern practice of outsourcing prayer to staff or volunteers while we pursue other obligations and opportunities of leadership is largely a deception among Western Christians that keeps us from becoming prayer leaders. Jesus never taught this, the disciples modeled the opposite, and there is no historic church leader who endorsed the idea of delegating prayer only to those deemed most fit for the role of intercessor.” Amen.
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
Colossians 1:9-12 ESV
Friends, Paul didn’t delegate prayer to someone else. Paul LEAD with prayer. So did Jesus. Let’s follow their example.
Please pray for your family and for your own walk with the Lord. Please pray for your church and your community. Please pray for me, for LifeWise Academy chapters across America, and for the gospel to increase and bear fruit.
Read the Bible in 2 Years: Psalm 35, Lamentations 3
Another “coffee mug” verse that is so much richer when you read it in context. The Lord’s mercies are indeed unending – even in the darkest valleys.
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
Lamentations 3:22-27 ESV

Read the Bible in 2 Years: Psalm 33-34, Lamentations 1-2
Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles that are false and misleading.
Lamentations 2:14 ESV
Truth: The wages of sin is death.
Truth: The gift of God is eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Truth: You’re a great sinner.
Truth: Jesus is a great Savior.
Truth: Heaven is a wonderful place
Truth: Not everyone is going there.
Truth: God is so holy, no man could survive in His presence.
Truth: The blood of Jesus, fully God-fully man, perfect and powerful, is sufficient to cover all our sins, by God’s grace through our faith
Believe the whole truth. Tell the whole truth.

Read the Bible in 2 Years: Psalm 32, Jeremiah 51-52
It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.
Jeremiah 51:15 ESV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
