Over and over again, God tells Ezekiel to lament and wail for alas, judgment is coming. Are we grieving over the death of the wicked – or are we rejoicing over it? Do we care about their souls and their families – or do we only care about how their wickedness is effecting us and our families?
Indeed, God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and neither should we. God wants them to repent and be saved. Do we?

Three times in Ezekiel 20, it says that God acted for the sake of His name, that it should not be profaned.
Do we live with that in mind?

According to Ezekiel 13:22 ESV, false prophets not only encouraged the wicked such that they didn’t turn from evil to be saved, but they also “disheartened the righteous falsely.”
Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33b ESV)
The Apostle Peter wrote, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.” (1 Peter 4:12-14 ESV)
One of the biggest takeaways I had from watching the movie and reading the book “The Insanity of God” was that we in the USA can encourage our persecuted family around the globe by using the freedom we have to share the good news. Let’s do that!

Does your heart break for the sin that fills our nation?
Do you grieve for the wicked who are perishing all around you?
Have you been marked by the Lord and sealed with His Spirit?
Seven times in 41 verses, the Lord says either “you” or “they” “shall know that I am the LORD.” These words are spoken not in the midst of blessing, but in the midst of judgment, in the sending of pestilence and famine and sword.
Pray for our nation. Pray for your neighbors. Pray for your family. Pray for yourself.
“Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord” (Ezekiel 7:19b) and neither can ours.
Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
And you shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house. “But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

Our church recently ordained a new elder and retired one to “emeritus” status after serving faithfully since our church was planted, 37 years ago!
I am so thankful for a team of elders who have been chosen in obedience to Titus 1:7-9,
For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
