Reading Proverbs 9 hits me hard. 🎯
As a teenage atheist, I thought I knew it all. But I didn’t. I was a fool. I didn’t listen to anyone except me … And those who agreed with me.
If you say you want to be wise,
- Listen to wisdom.
- Listen to the Word.
- Listen to wise counsel.
- Listen when your friend rebukes you.
- Listen when the Spirit convicts you.
Listen.
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
Proverbs 9:8-9 ESV
